2015 XJTU Scholarship

Xi'an Jiaotng University Scholarship (Postgraduate), offered by Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), aims to financially assist excellent international students to study at XJTU for postgraduate degrees.

In 2015, the Scholarship mainly sponsors English-medium Master Programs, namely: Management Science, Master of Electrical Engineering, Master of Electronic and Information Engineering, Master of Power Engineering & Thermal Fluid Science, Master of Mechanical Engineering, and Master of Management in Energy.

I. Number of Scholarships Available: 100. (Academic year 2015/2016)

II. Application Duration: March 1~June 15,2015.

III. Details of Scholarship
i. First Grade Scholarship:
1. Exemption from tuition fee;
2. Living allowance: CNY 1,700 yuan/month.
ii. Second Grade Scholarship:
Exemption from tuition fee.

Master of Management Science (MMS) ----------------------------------------------2 years

V. Eligibility
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports;
2. Applicants must be in good health;
3. Applicants for Master's Degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under 35 years of age;
4. Applicants may not be in receipt of any other types of scholarship.

VI. Application Documents
All documentation must be complete, true, and correct in either Chinese or English.

3. Photocopy of Physical Examination Record for Foreigner:
(The original copy should be kept by the applicant. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form.)
Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicant are invalid. Please select the appropriate time for your medical examination due to the 6 months validity of the medical results;
4. Photocopy of highest diploma (notarized copy):
Documents in other languages must be accompanied by a notarized translation in Chinese or English;
5. Academic Transcripts (notarized copy):
Transcripts in other languages must be accompanied by a notarized translation in Chinese or English;
6. Letters of Recommendation:
Two letters of recommendation (in Chinese or English) must be written for the applicant by Professors or Associate Professors;
7. Research Proposal or Study Plan:
Applicants must submit a written research proposal or study plan in English or Chinese.(800 words or more for Master's applicants; 1500 words or more for Doctoral applicants);
8. Notarized Copies of Extra-curricular Achievements;
Applicants should include any published research papers, certificates of awards and any other evidence that demonstrates their ability and excellence in their studies;
9. Certificate of English Proficiency Level: TOEFL, IELTS, or GRE;
10. Photocopy of your passport;
11. Bank receipt for Application fee. Application fee: CNY800Yuan (Only accept bank transfer to our accout. Account information is available on the attached files).
NOTE: a) Application documents mentioned above will not be returned regardless of whether the application is successful or not.
b) Applications submitted without all the required documents will be rejected.
c) Please provide Documents #1-5 in duplicate.

3. Post your application to Admission Office of International Students, School of International Education, Xi'an Jiaotong University.

VIII. Admission Notification
Successful candidates will be provided with an admission notice, a JW202 form (Visa form), health examination form and Guide to the University. These documents will be posted to the receiving postal address of applicants before the end of this semester.
Students are usually required to report at the admissions office with their admission notice and other documents in September (the start of the new session). Failure to do so within three weeks of the start of the new term will result in the admission notice becoming invalid.
