XI'AN JIAOTONG UNIVERSITY

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), founded in 1896, is a national key university directly under the administration of China's Ministry of Education. Key Information

ELIGIBILITY

Under the age of 25 & in good health (Guardian authorization is required for those under 18 years old).

Non-Chinese Citizens with a valid ordinary passport.

High school / senior secondary or advanced diploma (Applicants who are still in the last year of high school can provide the expected graduation certificate for applying while the official diploma must be provided before Sep 1st, 2027 upon enrollment).

Comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Education's document [2020] No.12 and the relevant regulations of our university.

APPLICATION, ADMISSION, AND REGISTRATION

Register and take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA).

I. Applicants are required to take the "CSCA Test" organized by the China Scholarship Council on behalf of the Ministry of Education of China and obtain the score report.

II. Applicants can visit the official CSCA website (www.csca.cn) for specific test dates and content. Mathematics and Physics are required for Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation, while Mathematics and Chemistry are required for Materials Science and Engineering.

III. A supplementary submission of the CSCA transcript during the comprehensive review stage is acceptable.

Log in to the Xi'an Jiaotong University online application system for international students(http://isso.xjtu.edu.cn/recruit/login), select the Degree Programs - Undergraduate Program - English-taught Leading Disciplines Undergraduate Programs. Submit the program application by following the application instructions and uploading the scanned copy of all the required documents.

Pay the application fee to complete your application

The university will send an application fee payment notice through the system information/email to applicants who pass the initial review. The application is completed only when the applicant pays the application fee in full within the required time. The application fee is non-refundable.

Admission

Admission will be granted to the most qualified applicants based on their academic records, language proficiency, CSCA results, and performance in the comprehensive interview. Applicants should pay close attention to the application system and registered email, and follow up on the latest information about academic review, pre-admission, tuition payment, and acceptance, etc.

Registration

Admitted students should strictly follow the instructions in the admission documents to register. Registration will take place in early September 2027. The exact date will be specified in the registration instructions. At the time of registration, the university will conduct a qualification review to re-evaluate the student's eligibility. As part of the qualification review, the university will recheck all the documents and personal information of the student, including the identity information, original graduation certificates, and language proficiency certificates, etc. The university will also assess the student's conduct to ensure they are a law-abiding citizen and have maintained good moral conduct before the registration period. Those who fail to pass this qualification review will be disqualified from admission.

APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

All documents must be complete, true, and correct in either Chinese or English.

Notarized original or translated copies of senior high school graduation diploma, either in Chinese or English. Fresh graduates should provide the original expected graduation certificate issued by their school, and supplement the graduation document at registration.

Transcripts:

Notarized original or translated copies of high school academic transcripts, including courses taken, scores achieved, and clarification of the scoring system;

The transcript of the unified standardized examination in the student's home country or the internationally prevailing standardized examinations (such as A-Level, IBDP, etc.);

Language certificates such as TOEFL 80, IELTS 6.0, and Duolingo English Test 110 (or above), or other equivalent English proficiency certificates recognized by our university are accepted (Native speakers of English can be exempted from the corresponding language proficiency certificate upon approval by XJTU).

Scan of China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) transcript (Mathematics and Physics are required for Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Automation, while Mathematics and Chemistry are required for Materials Science and Engineering).

A recommendation letter written by the high school headmaster or teachers (email, phone number, and signature should be included).

Study plan written in English or Chinese with no less than 600 characters or words;

Scanned copy of a valid foreign ordinary passport. The passport should be valid until after March 2028. If you do not meet the requirements, please renew your passport in time. Please refrain from changing your passport on your own during the application stage or at any potential subsequent stage of admission or registration.

Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (download at https://sie.xjtu.edu.cn/en/Application_Guide/Data_Download.htm and fill in Chinese or English. The applicant must strictly take all the examinations as required by the form. Forms with blanks, or without the doctor's signature and the hospital seal, are invalid. The results are valid for six months.);

Non-criminal record within the valid period;

Notes

a. Documents that fail to meet the above requirements will be rejected;

b. Please provide documents 2-11 in scanned copy and upload to the online application system of XJTU;

c. Documents other than Chinese or English are required to be translated and notarized;

d. During the review process, the school may require students to submit other materials if needed.

If an applicant is identified by the Exit-Entry Administration Department of China’s public security authorities as holding Chinese nationality at any stage of application, admission or after enrolment, the applicant’s application eligibility, admission qualification, enrolment qualification or student status shall be cancelled.
