As requested by Implementing Rules of Students’ Enrollment Status and Administration for Undergraduate International Students of Xi'an Jiaotong University, international undergraduate students, starting from grade 2019(medical students starting from grade 2018), are allowed to graduate only after they have completed extra-curricular 8 credits. Social practice is a critical component of the extra-curricular 8 credits. The relevant matters of social practice activities in 2022 summer vacation are notified as follows,
I. Participants
All international undergraduate students of grade 2021.
International undergraduate students who did not finish the Social Practice.
II. Contents
1. Social research practice. Students can choose social hot topics, carry out extensive and in-depth research, and write research reports. You can also combine theory with practice and actively transform research results to form effective suggestions according to knowledge you have learned.
2. Volunteer service practice. Students can carry out volunteer service according to the actual situation in your residences, such as volunteer to fight against epidemic disease, community volunteer, and traffic facilitator, help the poor and weak groups and volunteer education, etc.
3. Internship practice. Students can go to the local government or civil affairs departments and enterprises and institutions related to your major to carry out internship and write internship reports, research reports, proposals, etc.
The themes and contents above are for your references and students can also choose one or several of them for social practice. You can also carry out another type of social practice according to the specific situation and characteristics of your residences.
III. Relevant Requirements
1. Duration: June 27 to September 4, 2022.
2. Students can choose to carry out social practice both in and out of China as individuals or as a team.
3. Please submit a social practice report (more than 2000 words) to your instructor before September 11, 2022. Both pictures and texts are required. Both English and Chinese will be accepted.
4. Students who complete social practice and submit reports as required will get 2 credits of extra-curricular 8 credits after review. School of International Education will select excellent social practice reports for awards.
5. During practice, please enhance your safety awareness, pay attention to epidemic prevention and control, take good personal protection, avoid going to densely populated areas and areas with high epidemic incidence, and seek medical advices immediately if there are signs of illness. Be aware of traffic, personal, property and communication safety.
