Xi'an Jiaotong University Short-Term Programs

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), founded in 1896, is a national key university directly under the administration of China's Ministry of Education. As one of China's top ten research-intensive universities and a member of the C9 League—China's equivalent of the Ivy League—it operates as a comprehensive research university, encompassing 11 major disciplinary categories, including science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, humanities, law, philosophy, art, education, and interdisciplinary studies. Nearly 4,000 international students from over 130 countries and regions are currently pursuing their studies at XJTU. In 2013, the university was designated by China's Ministry of Education as a“Demonstration Base for International Education”. In 2024, XJTU achieved the highest rating of Class A+ in the re-certification of higher education quality for international students in China. In the 2025 Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of Chinese Universities, XJTU secured the 10th position.

I. Program Introduction

Program A – Study Visit Camp / Summer Camp / Winter Camp

·Duration: 8 days

·Fee: 5,500 RMB per person (A minimum of 20 participants is required for the program to commence)

·Include: On-campus double-room accommodation and meals at the university canteen

·ProgramOutline: 6 class hours of Chinese language courses, 4 class hours of thematic lecture courses, 4 class hours of cultural experience courses, 1 campus tour, 1 enterprise visit, and 2 cultural visits.

Program B – Cultural / Chinese Language Study Visit Camp

·Duration: 8 days

·Fee: 7,200 RMB per person (A minimum of 20 participants is required for the program to commence)

·Include: On-campus double-room accommodation and meals at the university canteen

·ProgramOutline: 6 class hours of thematic lecture courses, 4 class hours of cultural experience courses, 1 campus tour, 1 enterprise visit, and 6 cultural visits.

Program C –Science & Technology / Thematic Study Camp

·Duration: 8 days

·Fee: 6,000 RMB per person (A minimum of 20 participants is required for the program to commence)

·Include: On-campus double-room accommodation and meals at the university canteen

·ProgramOutline: 4 class hours of thematic lecture courses, 16 class hours of research participation in research groups, 1 campus tour, 1 enterprise visit, and 2 cultural visits.

Program D – STEM ACADEMY

·Duration: 10 days

·Fee: 37,200 RMB per person (A minimum of 3 participants is required for the program to commence)

·Include: Hotel accommodation and meals at the university canteen

·ProgramOutline: It is a high-end small-class fee-based program featuring research participation in research groups under the guidance of national leading talents. The program includes 7 sessions of research participation in research groups guided by national leading talents (calculated at 4 hours per session), 2 sessions of Chinese language courses, 2 sessions of thematic lectures, 2 sessions of cultural experience activities, 2 campus tours, 5 cultural visits, and 2 enterprise visits.

Program E –Research Lab Placement & Course Auditing

·Duration: 2 months

·Fee: 26,400 RMB per person (A minimum of 20 participants is required for the program to commence)

·Include: On-campus double-room accommodation (Meals are not included)

·ProgramOutline: 56 class hours of auditing courses, 112 hours of research participation in research groups, 8 class hours of cultural experience courses, 1 campus tour, and 4 enterprise visits.

Program F –Chinese Language & Professional Lectures

·Duration: 2 months

·Fee: 23,700 RMB per person (A minimum of 20 participants is required for the program to commence)

·Include: On-campus double-room accommodation (Meals are not included)

·ProgramOutline: 108 class hours of Chinese language courses, 48 class hours of thematic lecture courses, 16 class hours of cultural experience courses, 1 campus tour, and 4 enterprise visits.

Program G – Intensive Chinese Language Training Program for International Students

·Duration: 10 days

·Fee: 2,550 RMB per person (A minimum of 10 participants is required for the program to start)

·Offering Frequency: Twice a year, in spring and autumn respectively

·Program Levels: Three levels are set, with the training objectives corresponding to reachingHSK Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5 respectively.

·ProgramOutline: 30 class hours of Chinese language courses (calculated at 3 class hours per session, totaling 10 sessions).

II. Eligibility Requirements

1.Applicants must hold a valid ordinary foreign passport.

2.Applicants must be aged between 13 and 45 (inclusive).

3.Applicants must be in good physical and mental health.
