All International Students,
As a distinctive program, the "Going to the Countryside" social practice activity has increasingly attracted a large number of international students to participate. To help you step out of the classroom, experience China’s national conditions, history, culture and development achievements firsthand, and build a bridge for exchanges between Chinese and foreign youth, we are launching the 2026 Summer "Going to the Countryside" Social Practice Activity. Relevant arrangements are hereby announced as follows:

III. Practice Categories
1. Development Achievement Observation Group
Take China as a living classroom. Conduct researches on urban construction, rural development, ecological protection and opening-up, and compile observation reports.
2. History & Culture Study Group
Experience traditional Chinese culture, folk customs and intangible cultural heritage. Compare cultural differences between China and other countries and share cultural insights.
3. Science & Technology Innovation Group
Conduct field researches and practical work at tech enterprises and smart agricultural bases. Analyze technological applications based on your expertise. Deliver bilingual science popularization, translate documents, compare scientific and technological development at home and abroad, and submit bilingual research reports. Mere sightseeing is not allowed.
4. Rural Revitalization Group
Study typical cases of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. Organize online volunteer teaching and promote local customs and rural culture via online platforms.
5. Community with a Shared Future for Mankind Group
Learn about China’s efforts in promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, and explore how to build a global community with a shared future.
6. Group for the 130th Anniversary of Xi'an Jiaotong University
Interview international alumni and record the university's development from an international perspective. Produce interviews, bilingual short videos, articles and other tribute works to carry forward the university spirit and expand its global influence. Formalistic activities are prohibited.
IV. Requirements
Form teams of 5 to 10 members. Interdisciplinary and cross-grade teaming is encouraged. Each team shall appoint one leader and one advisor. One advisor may supervise no more than two teams in principle.
Submit a 2,000-word illustrated practice report upon completion.
All teams must sign the Safety Commitment Letter. Abide by local laws and regulations, stay alert and ensure personal, property and traffic safety throughout the activity.
V. Schedule
1. Registration
From now until June 25.Only team leaders need to fill in the registration form via theattachedQR code. Do not submit duplicate entries.
2. Activity Implementation
July 10–September 1. Eligible teams will be invited to theattachedWeChat group and required to submit practice reports on time.
3. Assessment
September– October. School of International Education and the University Youth League Committee will conduct assessment and select outstanding teams and individuals.
