Dear all 2020 international graduates,
Time is like a river. It never stops running. It seems yesterday that you entered XJTU with curiosity and hope, but today you are going to graduate and enter the next stage of your life around the world.
The year of 2020 is so special and memorable. You are deeply appreciated for the efforts and cooperation in the university’s fight with the COVID-19 pandemic. Xi’an Jiaotong University will continue to enforce epidemic prevention and control measures with the health and safety of all students and staff as its priority.
In order to help you graduate smoothly, School of International Education reminds you as follows:
1. Visa or Residence Permit
(1) 2020 graduates, who will continue their study in Xi’an Jiaotong University from the coming September, can apply for extension of residence permit with the admission package, including the Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW201/202 form), before the current residence permit expires.
(2) 2020 graduates, who will not continue their study and find no flight back to their own countries before the residence permit expires, can apply for one-month extension. If they still cannot leave one month later, apply for another month extension, and so on. (Note: Valid proof of incapacity to leave shall be provided along with the extension application. Malicious detention is prohibited.)
2. Post-graduation Destination
Please report to your instructor your post-graduation destination, which will be synchronized to our alumni information system later. Keep us updated with you.
3. Normalized Protection
Please follow the rules and regulations on epidemic prevention and control of the university and government, protect yourself well, decrease the times to go out, and avoid gathering activities.

4. Commencement Ceremony
The 111th Commencement Ceremony of Xian Jiaotong university (2020) will be held at the South-east Playground in Xingqing campus on July 2nd (Thursday), starting from 8:10 a.m. (Beijing time). We sincerely invite all of you to attend this great event online or offline.
Congratulations, dear all 2020 international graduates. We believe you will carry on, not only with the professional knowledge leant from professors in XJTU, but also sweet memories with our beloved Alma mater. Please remember, no matter where you go, your Alma mater is your home forever.
