On June 4th, 2025, Xi'an Jiaotong University hosted the Huawei 2025 Overseas Students Campus recruitment– Africa Region, attracting around 70 African students eager to explore global career opportunities with one of the world’s leading technology companies.
The event began with an engaging presentation by Mr. Mehdi, a representative from Huawei Africa. He introduced the history and mission of Huawei, highlighting its global influence in ICT infrastructure, smart devices, and cloud services. Mr. Mehdi emphasized Huawei's ongoing commitment to creating a fully connected, intelligent world and its contributions to society through innovation and digital transformation. He also shared the company's initiatives and achievements across the African continent, including advancements in mobile networks, support for digital education, and ICT talent development programs.
Then, HR Manager Mr. Guo Hui took the stage to provide an in-depth overview of Huawei's recruitment process and job opportunities available for international graduates, particularly those from Africa. He introduced several open positions including Product Marketing Manager, ICT Network Engineer, Site Engineer, Power Engineer, Account Manager, Procurement Specialist, etc. He further explained the standard recruitment process, which includes resume submission, technical and final interviews, and an official offer. Successful candidates will first undergo a 3 to 6 month training program in Shenzhen, Guangdong, before relocating to positions in their respective home countries.
Mr. Guo also highlighted the attractive salary packages and benefits, as well as Huawei's global working environment, which values innovation, responsibility, and teamwork.
The event concluded with a lively Q&A session, where students actively engaged with Huawei's recruitment team, asking questions about their concerns on applying for jobs and receiving answers from the team one by one. To encourage participation, Huawei rewarded each student who asked a question with a beautifully designed Huawei diary, a gesture that made the session even more interactive and enjoyable.
Finally, Huawei HR representatives collected students resume for further evaluation, marking the first step in what could be a life-changing career journey for many attendees.
The Huawei Recruitment Seminar not only deepened students understanding of Huawei and its global operations, but also opened new doors to high-quality international graduates who are interested in contributing to the development of their home countries through technology and innovation, and built an important bridge connecting Xi’an Jiaotong University, the global science and technology giant Huawei, and Africa’s development needs.
