Xi’an Jiaotong University 2026 “Five Central Asian Countries” International Student Education and Training Program Scholarship in Xi’an

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), founded in 1896, is a national key university directly under the administration of China's Ministry of Education. As one of China's top ten research-intensive universities and a member of the C9 League—China's equivalent of the Ivy League—it operates as a comprehensive research university, encompassing 11 major disciplinary categories, including science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, humanities, law, philosophy, art, education, and interdisciplinary studies.

At XJTU, 4484 international students from 128 countries and regions are currently pursuing their studies. In 2013, XJTU was awarded by the Ministry of Education of China as the "Demonstration Base for International Education" due to its outstanding performance in the work of international student education.

In 2024, XJTU achieved the highest rating of Class A+ in the re-certification of higher education quality for international students in China. In the 2025 Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of Chinese Universities, XJTU secured the 10th position.

I. Program Introduction

4. Eligibility Requirements:

l Hold citizenship of one of the five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan), hold a valid ordinary foreign passport, be friendly to China and be in good health;

l Have good moral character, abide by Chinese laws and regulations, be diligent and studious;

l High school/senior secondary diploma equivalent to Chinese senior high school graduation;

l Meet the admission requirements for international students of XJTU’s “1+4” Foundation-Bachelor Program. For more details, please refer to: 2026 Pre-university Foundation Programs of Xi’an Jiaotong University;

l Prior to admission to undergraduate studies at XJTU, students must successfully complete the pre-university foundation program and take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA). For specific test subjects required by XJTU, please refer to Xi'an Jiaotong University 2026 International Student Undergraduate Admission Program List& CSCA Subjects;

Applicants who are currently receiving other scholarships (excluding attendance awards, excellence awards, or other merit-based incentives) are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

II. Program Schedule

l Application Period: From now until July 15, 2026

l Foundation Study Period: September 2026 – July 2027

l Undergraduate Study Period: September 2027 – July 2031

III. Application Procedure

1. Online Application.

Log in to online application system of School of International Education, XJTU and select “Pre-University Foundation Programs: ‘1+4’ Foundation-Bachelor Program-36 weeks”, complete the online application form, and upload all the required documents as instructed by the system.

For the application documents, please refer to 2026 Pre-university Foundation Programs of Xi’an Jiaotong University. Select “‘Five Central Asian Countries’ International Student Education and Training Program Scholarship in Xi’an” as the funding type. No hard-copy application materials are required.

2. Pay the application fee to complete your application

Applicants who pass the initial review will receive an application fee payment notice via the application system and/or email. An application will be considered complete only after the application fee (RMB 800) has been paid in full within the specified period.

3. Admission

Admission will be granted to the most qualified applicants based on a comprehensive evaluation of application materials, interview performance, and overall academic qualifications. Applicants are advised to regularly check the application system and their registered email accounts for updates regarding academic review, pre-admission, tuition payment, and admission results.

4. Nomination and Scholarship Award

The university will finalize a list of nominated candidates from the final admitted students and submit it to Xi’an Municipal Bureau of Education. The Bureau will review the candidates and determine the final list of scholarship recipients.

Note: Applicants who have already been admitted to the “1+4” Foundation-Bachelor Program and meet the scholarship eligibility requirements are not required to submit a separate scholarship application. They will automatically be considered during the scholarship selection process.
