Xi’an Jiaotong University 2026 Xi’an City Government Belt and Road Scholarship International Undergraduate Program

Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), founded in 1896, is a national key university directly under the administration of China's Ministry of Education. As one of China's top ten research-intensive universities and a member of the C9 League—China's equivalent of the Ivy League—it operates as a comprehensive research university, encompassing 11 major disciplinary categories, including science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, humanities, law, philosophy, art, education, and interdisciplinary studies.

At XJTU, 4484 international students from 128 countries and regions are currently pursuing their studies. In 2013, XJTU was awarded by the Ministry of Education of China as the "Demonstration Base for International Education" due to its outstanding performance in the work of international student education.

In 2024, XJTU achieved the highest rating of Class A+ in the re-certification of higher education quality for international students in China. In the 2025 Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of Chinese Universities, XJTU secured the 10th position.

I.Program Introduction

The Xi’an City Government Belt and Road Scholarship is established by the Xi’an Municipal People’s Government to support outstanding international students from Belt and Road countries pursuing undergraduate studies at universities in Xi’an. Priority is given to newly admitted students each academic year.

1.Scholarship Coverage:

The scholarship applies to the first academic year of the degree program and is provided over 10 months. The scholarship for undergraduate students is 15,000 RMB/year.

2.Eligibility Requirements:

lHold citizenship of a "Belt and Road" country, hold a valid ordinary foreign passport, be friendly to China and be in good health;

lApplicants for undergraduate programs must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 25;

lHave good moral character, abide by Chinese laws and regulations, be diligent, studious and without any violation of Chinese laws, regulations, or university rules;

lMeet the admission requirements of XJTU’s International Undergraduate Program. For more details, please refer to:Xi’an Jiaotong University International Undergraduate Programs 2026;

lApplicants who are currently receiving other scholarships (excluding attendance awards, excellence awards, or other merit-based incentives) are not eligible for this scholarship.

From now until July 20, 2026

III.Application Procedure

1.Online Application.

Log in to theonline application system of School of International Education, XJTU, complete the online application form and upload all the required documents as instructed by the system. For the application documents, please refer toXi’an Jiaotong University International Undergraduate Programs 2026. Select“Xi’an City Government Belt and Road Scholarship”as the funding type.No hard-copy application materials are required.

2.Pay the application fee to complete your application

Applicants who pass theinitialreview will receive an application fee payment notice via the application system and/or email.An application will be considered complete only after the application fee (RMB 800) has been paid in full within the specified period.The application fee is non-refundable regardless of the admission outcome

3.Admission

Admission will be granted to the most qualified applicants based on a comprehensive evaluation of their application materials, CSCA results, interview performance, and overall academic qualifications.Applicants are advised to regularly check the application system and their registered email accounts for updates regarding academic review, pre-admission, tuition payment, and admission results.

4.Nomination and Scholarship Award

The university will finalize a list of nominated candidates from the final admitted students and submit it to Xi’an Municipal Bureau of Education. The Bureau will review the candidates and determine the final list of scholarship recipients.
