I.Program Objectives

Master of Arts in Chinese Culture Studies, international enrollment, referred to as MACC, is a master’s degree program for foreign students（HSK 4-5）set up by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Xi’an Jiaotong University, with the education of humanities and social sciences as the main content. The program is targeted at building a graduate education platform for international students to understand China and Chinese culture, and enhance cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. It aims to cultivate international graduate students with comprehensive understanding of Chinese culture and society and with strong Chinese cultural and social research capabilities.

The general length of Masters’ programs is 2 years.

Required Course：Overview of China, Comprehensive Chinese,Political Theory, Contemporary Chinese Society, Gender and Chinese Society, Cultural Perspective of Science and Technology in Ancient China, Classical Chinese Philosophy

Elective Course：Primary Test Training, International Communication, Classical Chinese Poems, Science Fiction and Imagination, Chinese Art History, Chinese Music Appreciation, Chinese Architecture and Landscape Cultural Heritage Protection, A Study of China's Reform and Opening-up, The OBOR Initiative and the open policy of China, Studies On Contemporary China’s International Strategy and Diplomacy, Chinese Red Culture Spirit
